5.2　Optical Cable Route Selection

5.2.1　The lines should go from the bridge，when the optical cable routing goes across the river and a permanent solid bridge may be available for laying the lines nearby.Suitable places shall be chosen to deploy underwater cables whilst considering the main routing direction，to ensure the routing will not deviate too far.However，for complex and broad rivers or large rivers with busy shipping business，top priority shall be ensuring safety of the underwater routes，and partial deviation can be an option.

5.2.2　To ensure security as top priority，directional drilling or aerial laying methods may be used to lay optical cable lines across the river.

5.2.3　When optical cable lines come across a reservoir，optical cable lines shall go through the upstream of the reservoir and the laying height along the reservoir shall exceed the highest water storage level.
