2.3 Eating Behaviors

2.3.1 Meal frequency
Of Chinese residents aged 6 years and above, 88.9% could reach the goal of three meals a day, with the proportion of urban higher than that of rural.
2.3.2 Dining-out proportion
The dining-out proportion of Chinese residents aged 6 years and above was 35.5%, with male’s higher than female’s. That of adolescents aged 12~17 years was the highest, registering at 69.5%, and that of urban residents was 42.2%, 13.7% higher than rural residents. Compared with those in 2002, the dining-out proportions increased greatly in both urban and rural areas(Fig. 2-10).
