Further Comparison Understanding on Ocean Culture and Mainland Culture

Abstract: With the rise of the Ocean Century, the Comparison between the ocean culture and the mainland culture become a hot topic. The common view is that the ocean culture is more open, while the mainland culture is more conservative. The ocean culture based on the western, also named the blue civilization. The mainland culture also named the eastern culture, the farming culture, and the yellow civilization, with China as the representative. Therefore, the core of the problem of the ocean and mainland culture comparison is which one is better. However, opposition to the traditional ideas, this paper thinks that the mainland culture does not means conservative, and the ocean culture does not means exoteric. The mainland culture conceives human civilization, produces an enterprising and opening history of human being. During the ocean culture's development, there are also many conservative processes. The source of conservative is the stratum of the vested interest, who makes great efforts to protect their privileges, not the mainland culture or the ocean culture. Now to develop the ocean business, meaningless discussion should be avoided on whether the mainland culture or the ocean culture being better or not. However, an interactive bridge should be constructed between them. Only the ocean culture developed in conformity to the mainland culture, the harmony idea between human and ocean would be realized.
