1.4 Contents and Innovations

This research employs sound methodology and approach to investigate the holistic agricultural supply chain risk management in Ghana. First this identifies risk sources and assesses risk in the chain. In addition，this research investigates the impact of risk sources on the performance of the chain and then identifies potential strategies to mitigate these risks. Lastly，this book seeks to understand the impact of these risks mitigation strategies on the performance of the chain.

Although risks are inevitable in the supply chain，rare study comprehensively identifies risk sources and investigates their impact on the performance of agricultural supply chain in Ghana. Again，no existing studies have pursued to reveal risk mitigation strategies employed in Ghana to mitigate major risk sources and further understand the impact of the mitigation strategies on a particular agricultural supply chain. Hence this study narrows this huge gap in the agricultural industry in Ghana.
