Preface

When I first met Dr. Zhenhu Chen in Guangzhou some time ago, his miraculous QH Needle was unknown outside of his own clinic in the 1 st Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. From the first day, Dr. Chen humbly and quietly achieved amazing and truly unprecedented results with just one needle in less than five minutes time. I saw all kinds of remarkable outcomes, including hip and back pain, neck pain, frozen shoulder, elbow and wrist pain, and even severe ankle sprains and many other conditions that had not responded to any other innervations. Some patients had chronic pain for years, and left the clinic with tears of joy after having had their pain relieved almost instantly. It was so amazing and heart touching that I stayed in Guangzhou to learn more from Dr. Chen about the secrets of his innovative needle and the special manipulations that were rooted in the Ling Shu.
Upon my return to the USA and armed with the QH Needles, I began treating many patients in my own clinic with the same amazing results. I had many patients in disbelief at the results, so much so that they would call and request the QH Needle. After a short time, I started running low on the needles, and had to get more... I even contemplated flying back to Guangzhou just to get some QH Needles from Dr. Chen.
In short, the QH Needle is one of the most revolutionary innovations in modern acupuncture practice that I have ever seen. The roots and history of the needle and its manipulations, primary Shu- Ci and Hegu- Ci, are clearly defined in the treasures of the Ling Shu. I have had hundreds of remarkable clinical results in a short period of time. The publishing of this book promises to be a great boon to the modern revolution of acupuncture, and Dr. Chen deserves great credit for his genius introduction of the QH Needle to the world.
