Abstract

The social mentality of contemporary China is not only a positive social mentality that people yearn for a better life，but also a big country mentality from “getting rich” to “getting strong”. Through nearly 40 years of reform and opening-up effective governance，not only further optimization of social production relationship in our country，but also the transformation of the social principal contradictions of our country，social production relations of optimization and transformation of contemporary Chinese social mentality of the social principal contradictions of actively good，injected “arm” for promoting the modernization of national governance. Social mentality is the macro social state of mind in the whole society or in a certain group due to the role of people's various production and life practices in a certain period，which is the sum total of the whole society's emotion，social cognition and social value consensus. It has simple spontaneity，intuitiveness，directness，universality，mutual infection，distinct group，obvious difference and instability. The modernization of national governance is an inevitable requirement to adapt to the changes in global governance. As the basic consensus of all Chinese people，it has become the common goal of the Chinese people at present. The process of practice and implementation and the ultimate realization also require the overall strength of the whole society. The prosperity of the country，the rejuvenation of the nation，the happiness of the people and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation are the new times connotation of realizing the modernization of national governance，which needs the support of good and positive social mentality. This paper based on the modernization of national governance practices and new era background，form a systematic understanding of the contemporary Chinese social mentality and，based on the governance of modern practice to analyze and discuss the basic route of adjustment and optimization of the contemporary Chinese social mentality and strategy，to seek China's peaceful rise，broad social consensus needed to cultivate good social mentality. The research of this paper includes the following six aspects：

In the introduction part of the first chapter，the research purpose of this paper is introduced，and the current research status at home and abroad is analyzed. On this basis，the research ideas，research methods，possible innovation points and shortcomings of this paper are pointed out.

The second chapter is an overview of social mentality and the basic theory of national governance modernization. On the basis of summarizing the different views of domestic scholars on the concept of social mentality，this chapter defines the concept of social mentality and comprehensively discusses its basic features and functions. The basic connotation of “national governance modernization” and “national governance modernization practice” is systematically interpreted. On this basis，some concepts closely related to social mentality，such as individual mentality，social ideological trend and social psychology，are comprehensively analyzed. At the same time，the factors influencing social mentality are systematically analyzed and discussed.

The third chapter explains the inner logic of contemporary Chinese social mentality and national governance modernization. Based on the national governance modernization practice as the background，this chapter makes a theoretical explanation and systematic discussion on the interaction and influence of contemporary Chinese social mentality and national governance modernization practice.

Chapter five elaborates and analyzes the cultivation of the “strong country” mentality on the basis of the practice of national governance modernization，and comprehensively and systematically analyzes the “four comprehensives”，“four self-confidence” and “four greats” in the process of coordinating the whole national governance modernization practice. Illustrates the overall enhance the socialist mainstream ideology self-confident practical significance，discussion on the modernization of national governance practice and the internal relationship between the contemporary Chinese social mentality and basic context，reflected the top-level design on the guiding ideology of advancing with The Times，adhere to the historical materialism and reflected from the practical level of dialectical thinking.

Chapter six discusses and analyzes the optimal path of social mentality in contemporary China on the background of national governance modernization. This chapter is mainly based on the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity，and through enhancing the psychological，emotional and value identification of the modernization of national governance，thus enhancing the social psychological identification of the mainstream ideology in the new era. This paper points out the basic strategies and practical approaches to optimize and adjust the social mentality of contemporary China，and on this basis，puts forward various reforms to comprehensively deepen and promote including politics，economy，culture，society，education and psychology，and discusses the optimization path of the social mentality of contemporary China from the perspective of national governance modernization.
