Foreword

As required by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in the Notice on Printing"Development and Revision Plan for National Engineering Construction Standards and Codes in 2009"（Jian Biao〔2009〕No.88），this code is prepared by the code drafting group via conducting extensive investigation and carefully summarizing practical experiences with reference to relevant international standards and foreign advanced standards as well as on the basis of widely soliciting for opinions.

This code consists of 10 chapters and the main technical contents cover general provisions，terms，basic requirements，ground construction，foundation construction，shoring construction of foundation excavation，groundwater control，construction of earthwork，slope construction as well as safe and green construction.

In this code，the provision（s）printed in bold type is（are）mandatory one（s），and must be enforced strictly.
