Summary

In this chapter, we learned about firewall functions, their rules, and the types of firewalls, such as packet-filtering firewalls, stateful firewalls, application firewalls, and zone-based firewalls. We also looked at IPS, IDS, VPN, and content security in detail.

In the next chapter, we will discuss the concepts of security policies, assets, and other security design considerations.
