Content Security Policy

The Content Security Policy (CSP) is a security policy to be implemented to protect networks from attacks that are initiated to steal the content and intellectual property of the company. The CSP provides a typical technique for website owners and companies to declare the rights and origins of the users of the content. Content security policies help security administrators to find and mitigate several types of threat, such as injection attacks and cross-site scripting attacks.

The CSP provides multi-layer security, so if one security layer fails, the other layers are still there to protect the network's applications, data, and devices.

There are different types of content security systems used by organizations:

  • Policies that can be configured on the browser
  • Hardware appliances
  • Software/virtual appliances
