Unplanned maintenance

As the name suggests, unplanned maintenance refers to maintenance that cannot be planned and is ad hoc in nature. It refers to hardware failures such as storage corruption, network or router failure, power loss, and a host of other failures, due to hardware and software. Bugs in the underlying platform that bring the application down are also part of unplanned maintenance.
