Dispersed

Dispersed volumes are trickier to size, as they function similar to a RAID 5, where the data is spread across the nodes and a node's worth of capacity is used for parity. This depends on the configuration of the volume, but you could expect space efficiency to increase with the node count.

To further explain, a request for a 50 TB volume can be configured on six nodes with 10 TB each. Note that an extra node was taken into consideration. Selecting five nodes with 10 TB each results in a volume of only 40 TB, which falls short of the requested size.
