1　General

1.0.1　This Standard is developed with a view to determining the seismic precautionary category and seismic precautionary criterion for petrochemical buildings and other structures according to feature in petrochemical engineering so as to efficiently mitigate earthquake disasters.

1.0.2　This Standard is applicable to determining the seismic precautionary category for the buildings and other structures in new，revamp and expansion petrochemical projects where crude oil，natural gas and their products are used as the raw material，which are suited on zones of Seismic Precautionary Intensity 6，7，8 and 9.

1.0.3　In addition to the requirements of this Standard，seismic precautionary category for buildings and structures in petrochemical engineering shall also comply with the requirements specified in the relevant current national codes and standards.
