1　General Provisions

1.0.1　The code is developed to implement related national guidelines and policies，impose general technical requirements，save energy and resources and protect the environment during the engineering design of underground water-sealed oil storages in rock caverns，with the aim of allowing them to be safe，functional，technically advanced，and economically feasible.

1.0.2　The code is applicable to engineering designs of underground water-sealed cavern storages in rock caverns used to store crude oil，gasoline，or diesel for future use.

The code is not applicable to engineering designs of intra-man-made cavern wall-away（or-contacting）steel tanks，natural cavern oil depots，and salt cavern oil depots.

1.0.3　In addition to this Code，engineering designs of underground water-sealed oil storages in rock caverns shall also comply with codes and standards.
