This Part is revised from DL/T 5190.5-2004"Specification for thermal power erection and construction-Part 5：Section of instrumentation and control"by Professional Technical Committee on Thermal Power Construction of Standardization Administration of China，in association of relevant organizations according to the requirements of Document GUONENGKEJI〔2009〕No.163"Notice of National Energy Administration on Formulating（Revising）the First Batch of Professional Standard in the Energy Field in 2009".

DL 5190"Technical specification for thermal power erection and construction"comprises the following 9 parts：

DL 5190.1 Part 1：Civil Work

DL 5190.2 Part 2：Boiler Unit

DL 5190.3 Part 3：Steam Turbine Generator Units

DL 5190.4 Part 4：Instrumentation and Control

DL 5190.5 Part 5：Pipe and System

DL 5190.6 Part 6：Water Treatment and Hydrogen Generation Equipment and System

DL 5190.7 Part 7：Welding

DL 5190.8 Part 8：Processing Preparation

DL 5190.9 Part 9：Hydro-structure

This Part is the fourth part"Instrumentation and Control"of DL 5190（hereinafter referred to as"this Part"）.

The main contents of this Part include：General Principles，Basic Regulation，Installation of Sampling﹠ sensitive element，Installation of Local Measuring ﹠ Control Instrument，Installation of Control Panel（Console，Box，Cabinet），Laying and Wiring of Wires and Cables，Pipe Laying Work，Protection and Grounding，I﹠C Device Commissioning and appendixes.

This Part has the followingmain technical changes compared with DL 5190.5-2004：

—The compulsory provisions were specified；

—The contents on"pneumatic local-mounted instrument"in the former specification were deleted；

—Section 5.3"Computer and Auxiliary System Installation"was added in Chapter 5；

—The contents on the requirements for the technical data，like"list of installation records of thermal control equipments"and"list of commissioning records of thermal control equipments"，were added in Chapter 9；

In this Part，Article 3.1.6 and Item 1～Item 3 in Article 8.4.12 printed in bold type are the compulsory provisions and must be enforced strictly.

This Part was proposed by the China Electricity Council.

This Part is under the jurisdiction of the Professional Technical Committee on Thermal Power Construction of Standardization Administration of China.
