5.2 Examination and Acceptance for Pipes
5.2.1 Pipe quality certificates shall include the following contents:
1 Manufacturer name;
2 User name;
3 Contract number;
4 Product standard number;
5 Steel grade;
6 Heat number,lot number,delivered condition,mass,number of pieces(or number of items);
7 Category,size and quality grade;
8 Each inspection result(including reference data)specified in product standards and purchase contract;
9 Stamp of technical and quality inspection department;
10 Issuing date of quality certificate or date of shipment;
Method:check quality certificates.
5.2.2 Quality certificates and pipe sizes,quantities and marks shall be checked according to heat number,lot number and delivered condition.
Method:check quality certificates,and perform visual examination and measurements checking.
5.2.3 Pipe mark shall include the following contents at minimum:
1 Manufacturer name or trademark;
2 Product standard number;
3 Steel grade;
4 Product specifications;
5 Traceable identification code.
Method:perform visual examination.
5.2.4 When pipe is supplied in bundle,two labels or tags shall be provided.Heat number,lot number,mass weight or number of pieces and manufacture date shall be marked on the labels or tags.
Method:check pipe labels or tags.
5.2.5 Surface quality of steel pipe shall conform to the following requirements:
1 Inner or outer surface of steel pipe shall be free of defects,such as cracks,folds,hairline cracks,wrinkle,separated layer or scabs;
2 Depth of rust,dent,scratch,mechanical damage or other unallowed defect on surface of steel pipe shall not exceed negative tolerance of wall thickness as specified in applicable product standards;
3 Machining accuracy of threads and groove at end of steel pipe shall comply with design documents or manufacturer's standards;
4 Identifications shall be provided per product standards.
Method:visual examination and measurements checking.
5.2.6 For pipes conveying extremely hazardous fluids or pipe at design pressure higher than or equal to 10MPa,if outside diameter is larger than 15mm,proof test shall be conducted for outer surface of pipe,specifically,magnetic particle test shall be performed for magnetic permeable steel pipe and liquid penetration test shall be performed for magnetic impermeable steel pipe.5% of fabrication and at least one piece from each lot shall be spot examined.Test results shall conform to Grade I specified in current state standard JB/T 4730.4 Nondestructive Test of Pressure Equipment,Part 4:Magnetic Particle Test and JB/T 4730.5 Grade I specified in Nondestructive Test of Pressure Equipment,Part 5:Penetration Test.
Method:check test reports.
5.2.7 Spectrum analysis or other tests shall be performed for Cr-Mo alloy steel,cryogenic nickel steel,molybdenum austenitic stainless steel,nickel and nickel-alloy,titanium and titanium alloy,zirconium and zirconium alloy pipes to verify main metal elements in alloy steel.5% of fabrication and at least one piece from each lot(in the same heat number and lot number)shall be spot examined.
Method:check test reports.
