7.4　Assembly of Base Plates

7.4.1　All base plates shall be closely attached to the surface of backing plates or sectional steel members beneath them，with a gap of no greater than 1mm.The center lines marked as described in 7.3.3 shall be located in the center of the base plate butt weld.

7.4.2　The gap of base plate butt joints shall be as specified in Table 7.4.2，where no requirements are provided on the pattern.

7.4.3　Measures shall be taken to prevent deformation when base plates are welded.After welding is completed，the surface shall be flat and free of visible warping deformation，and the allowable flatness deviation per square meter shall be 2mm.

7.4.4　All butt welds with unequal thickness shall be ground to form a transitional slope less than 1∶6.

7.4.5　Measures against rain or snow damages shall be taken during the assembly of base plates.Leak or flow of water to the area between base plates and the foundation surface shall be prohibited.
