请阅读以下短文,试着理解每个段落和整篇文章的大意。
Have you ever dreamed of winning the lottery? Have you even made plans about how to use that big fortune? With the huge winnings, you may live a life of luxury, buying a big mansion (宅邸) in any location with the greatest landscape, going on a luxurious cruise to the Mediterranean. You will live happily ever after, won't you? Unfortunately the dream you have about winning may be better than the actuality of winning.
Everything comes with a price, including winning the lottery. It is logical to think that money can solve most of the problems. However, money doesn't make an already irresponsible person more responsible. Very often people are keen to spend money, but with little financial(经济上的)guidance, the money comes overnight can be overwhelming that the lottery winners' lives may fall like a landslide.
Lately psychologist Steve Danish has studied the impact instant wealth has on lottery winners. The study shows that a sudden cash windfall hasn't always resulted in a happy ending for past lottery winners. Kenneth and Connie Parker were winners of a $25 million lottery. Just months after their hitting of the big one, their 16-year marriage came to an end. Jeffery Dampier was a 20 million lottery winner who was kidnapped(绑架) and murdered by his own sister-in-law. As it's said, those lottery winners can control how the money affect themselves, but they can't control how the money affect those around them. Jealousy can be fatal. When people think they will conquer(克服) the world with all that money, they can't conquer jealousy.
What if you become the next lottery winner? Suddenly having a lot of money can change your life style dramatically(巨大地). You need to relax and make a plan. First of all, don't tell anybody if you don't want to get into trouble. Secondly, hire a qualified financial planner and lawyer. It's also important that you learn how to budget your own money at some point so you don't have to fully rely on your financial planner. After all, you want the money to work for you, but not to become your worst nightmare.
