Preface

The purpose of this book is to introduce the educational system, the universities and the relevant legal issues for studying in the United Kingdom.The book also gives guidance on the citizenship test for those who are going, or planning to go, to the United Kingdom for study, work or immigration.

The author personally visited almost a hundred universities in the UK and conducted vigorous and detailed surveys making this guide the most authoritative source of reliable information for those planning on studying, working or immigrating to the UK.The book is composed of two volumes.

Volume One looks at the development of UK universitie.It includes the results of completed questionnaires taken at the chosen universities thus giving prospective Chinese students a better understanding of university life in the UK.It also provides valuable information to help the student best plan for their future studies in the UK.

Volume Two includes information relating to the education system in the UK, living in the UK, the relevant laws in the UK, and guidance for the Citizenship Test.The book aims to act as a primary source of essential reference information to help readers to quickly acclimatize and settle down to living and studying in the United Kingdom.

The main characteristic of this book is its authenticity.All the collected information and completed questionnaires were conducted by the author personally and the interviewees and participants gave both reliable and detailed information providing a unique insight to studying and living in the UK.Furthermore, the accuracy of the information relating to the history, daily life and legal requirements is a key feature and has been verified by the author personally and summarized accordingly.
