The Construction and Development of Eco-city Index System in Yancheng
Abstract: The development pattern of eco-city which is the advanced stage of urban construction and development, features science, harmony and efficiency. It is of great significance to construct the scientific index system for the sustainable development of eco-cities. According to the development of Yancheng City, and based on the principles and methods of establishing the eco-city index system, we have selected 18 secondary indicators from the aspects of environment, economy and society to set up a scientific and dynamic index system. Based on AHP, the first-level indicators and comprehensive ecological indicators have been analyzed, and the comprehensive evaluation has been made, indicating that the city's ecological level has continued to improve and develop rapidly from 2011-2015, namely, Yancheng has developed from the rather low level in 2011 to a high degree in 2015. Finally, based on the current situation of eco-city construction in Yancheng, this paper puts forward measures and suggestions for establishing the eco-city in Yancheng from the aspects of establishing an efficient eco-economic system, a harmonious eco-social system and a healthy eco-environmental system.
