Abstract
Since the Arts Studies became an independent discipline in 2011, the relavant subjects have been undergoing a series of changes, in which there were two significant aspects. On one hand, the number of first-level subjects of conferring academic degree increased rapidly in universities and scientific research institutions all over the country. On the other hand, some separate subjects began to combine with each other to become one subject and take a new mode of package development, such as two-in-one manner of study of musicology and dance, and three-in-one manner of study of theater and Chinese traditional opera, television and filmology, and broadcasting art studies. The swift growth in quantity and readjustment in structure of the subjects of Arts Studies could be reflected in those two points. Based on the materials collected at present, in order to provide the peers of academic circle with referential datum for their further study in development of Arts Studies discipline in China, the research team endeavors to express and describe the above two kinds of variations.
The report, scanning the annual state of Arts Studies discipline of Chinese mainland as an independent one for the first year in 2012, is a comprehensive compilation of general information in this field.
The description on development state of five subordinate first-level subjects of Arts Studies discipline, i. e. arts theory, study of musicology and dance, study of theater, television and filmology, study of fine arts, and study of design, according to the subject catalogue of China promulgated in 2011, is the main part of the report.
The report mainly focuses on several points when discussing the annual situation of these five subjects, which contains subject overview, professional cultivation, academic research, academic communication, artistic creation, art education, annual problems and so on.
