Layan接受越洋发展集团的任命，在上海市中心设计一座新的酒店，这座五星级的奢华房产并不只是一个商业酒店，它更是一个平静安宁的城市度假胜地。

该项目具有中国特色，既现代又适宜居住，使客人有宾至如归的感觉。璞丽酒店以一个巨大的吧台取代了豪华的前厅与接待处，宾客可以在此饮茶、交谈、会面以及登记住宿。它是这幢建筑的中心，一个能够俯视具有震撼视觉效果的500平方米的倒影池以及静安公园的会客场所。

酒店内设藏书齐全、附带特制壁炉的图书室以供宾客使用，可饱览公园景色的餐厅，以及高端的安娜塔拉Spa。酒店俱乐部拥有神秘、奢华的环境，有庞大的中央壁炉与可以俯瞰上海美景的屋顶露台。

酒店的理念在个人客房的设计上得到了最佳体现。原木雕刻屏风，质感强烈的灰色砖块，带有纹理的黑色原木与浅色的水磨砂岩形成对照，以及整体织物墙面，都以一种现代的方式体现中国文化。浴室是房间不可或缺的部分，浴缸沿窗户摆放，附带宽敞的、坐卧两用的沙发可供休息，足够高的玻璃滑动门增加了私密性。

Layan was appointed by Cross Ocean Development Group to design a new hotel in the middle of urban Shanghai, a 5 star luxury property that is not just another business hotel but a peaceful and tranquil urban resort.

The project had to have a distinctive Chinese, yet modern and residential character to make the guest feel at home. Instead of a grand lobby with huge reception desk, the Puli has a fabulous large bar where one can drink, chat, meet, and check-in. This bar becomes the heart of the building, a meeting place overlooking a stunning candle-lit 500m2reflection pond and JingAn Park.

Within the hotel is an intimate library with a very special fireplace one can sit in, a restaurant with views of the park, the signature overflow pool and the sophisticated Anantara spa. The hotel club is a subtle, luxurious environment with a grand central fireplace and a roof terrace overlooking Shanghai.

The philosophy of the hotel is manifested best in the design of the individual guestrooms. The use of carved timber screens, textured local grey brick, dark and grainy timber against light honed sandstone and textile wall coverings reference the local Chinese culture in a modern way. The bathroom is integral to the rooms, the bath located along the window with a huge daybed to lounge on and full height glass sliding doors for added privacy.
