数亿年前的地质时代，漫长的地壳运动和沧桑变迁，裂变出惊天地、泣鬼神的罕见奇观，这就是黄山。于是，一个大自然的精灵，以奇松、怪石、云海、温泉、冬雪驰名于世，成就了一座绝伦的山岳传奇！当20世纪90年代初被列为世界文化与自然遗产时，黄山的一个华丽转身，把一幅杰出的立体山水画卷铺向了世界！从此，世界的脚步奔向了这里！
徽州发韧于上古时期，悠久的历史嬗变和社会进化，孕育出耀古今、扬中外的文化奇观，这就是徽州文化。于是，一朵人类文明的奇葩，以博大、精深、丰富、绚丽、独特蜚声天下，抒写了一部灿烂的文化华章！当20世纪90年代末被列为世界文化遗产时，西递宏村的一个精彩亮相，把一个充满诗情画意的徽州推向了世界！从此，世界的目光投向了这里！
一座无与伦比的山，一脉瑰丽悠远的文化，在一条浩荡不息的母亲河——新安江的滋润下，相生相息，互为润泽，以至于在这片土地形成了山水优美、文化灿烂、生态优质、物产丰厚、区位优越、品牌响亮六张名片，世界遗产、世界地质公园、国家重点风景名胜区、国家自然保护区、国家森林公园、国家地质公园、国家历史文化名城名镇名村名街、全国重点文物保护单位等等，灿若星河，交相辉映。一座如诗如画的天然大公园卓然挺立天地间！无怪乎明代大戏剧家汤显祖发出“无梦到徽州”的高歌长吟，明代伟大旅行家徐霞客发出“薄海内外无如徽之黄山”的千古赞叹！
如今，这枚“枫叶”正和着激情、成熟、浪漫的旋律，以火红的色彩吸引着世界，在时代的天空和大自然的时序里，争奇斗艳地竞相上演着人与自然、人与社会的和谐之美，诠释着“天地之美、美在黄山，人生有梦、梦圆徽州”的真谛！

In the vicinity of the Earth 30 degrees north latitude, where there are many marvelous spectacles, a beautiful ‘maple leaf' has gently fell down here and mysteriously become a territory, a 9807 square kilometer domain of the Huangshan City today. Such a legend has evoked countless poetic imagination and respect for the aesthetic feelings of mankind...
During the geological age billions of years ago, the long term crustal movement and vicissitudes made an extraordinary and rare wonder - that is Mt. Huangshan. Known worldwide for its dramatic pines, fantastic rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs and winter snow, Mt. Huangshan became a peerless legend of all mountains. When listed as the world natural heritage in the early 1990s, Mt. Huangshan made a successful debut to the world, unrolling an outstanding landscape painting never seen before. Since then, people from all over the world have set their feet here.
Originated in the remote age, the glorious historical evolution and social developments of Huizhou have bred a cultural spectacle - that is the Huizhou culture. Having a reputation in its profoundness, richness, floweriness and uniqueness, Huizhou culture became a blooming flower in the garden of world civilization. When listed as the world cultural heritage in the early 1990s, the first appearance of Xidi and Hongcun villages brought forward the poetic and picturesque Huizhou to the world. Since then, people from all over the world have paid their attention here.
Nurtured by a tireless mother river - Xin'an River, the incomparable mountain and the magnificent culture have come together to promote the highlights of this land, namely, ‘beautiful sceneries',‘flourishing culture', ‘healthy ecology', ‘rich products', ‘superior location' and ‘resounding brands'. In addition to the world heritage, there are numerous honors that add fame to each other, such as world geological park, national important scenic spot and natural reserve, historical and cultural towns and villages, best preserved cultural relics and so on. Having a large picturesque natural park standing between heaven and earth, no wonder the great playwright of Ming Dynasty, Tang Xianzu, said that ‘one of my ultimate goals in life is actually reaching Huizhou not only in dreams but as a real fact', as well as the immortal praise given by the famous traveler, Xu Xiake, that ‘there is no place both at home and abroad like Mt. Huangshan'!
Nowadays, this ‘maple leaf' is following a passionate and romantic melody and attracting the world by its flame. No matter how seasons change with time, it always celebrates the beauty of harmony between man and nature, people and society, and always illustrates the true meaning of ‘finding the beauty of nature at Mt. Huangshan, and realizing the dream of a lifetime in Huizhou'!
